Romeo and Juliet

Last night was the night of Romeo and Juliet, a masterpiece by William Shakespeare. It was an old film, starred by Leonard Whiting( he looked like Zac Efron ) and Olivia Hussey( gosh, she looked so gorgeous, her long black hair adored her sparkling blue eyes).

They saw love at first sight, sparks of love were lighted by, but it was before they found out each other to be the generation of feuding families, Capulet and Montague. Despite of the family conflict, they remained loving to each other and saw hope in their relationship.

What amazed me is that Juliet, at that time, was just 14 years old, and she already had sex with Romeo! Hahaa..

Lots of things happened. Juliet’s parents wanted her to marry a gentleman named Count Paris, of course it was against Juliet’s wish. Romeo stabbed Juliet’s cousin, Tybalt in a fight with his friend, which resulted him to be exiled from the states. What can Juliet do? She had to marry Paris, but Romeo’s father gave her a drug to fake her death in order to escape her marriage.

When Romeo learned that Juliet had died, he rushed to her. Sad though he seemed, he drank a bottle of poison and died in front of her. Fortunately, or rather unfortunately, Juliet just woke up in time to see him dying. Unable to suffer the pain of losing her loved one, she pulled him stagger out and stabbed herself to death.

It was a tragedy. Had it not been the feuding families, they would have been together happily. Had it not been the true love, they chose to vanish together, because they know without each other in company, they have nothing.

I love this drama very much, though their classic English is quite hard for me to interpret accurately. After all, isn’t it a literature piece?
